As part of the NATO initiative enhanced Vigilance Activity (eVA), the units of Forward Land Force battle group (FLF BG) Bulgaria, an Italian-led multinational NATO unit, conducted the multinational multi-weapon exercise Shiny Night.

The aim of the training activity was to further increase the level of interoperability and operational readiness achieved by the battle group.

“Shiny Night” falls into the drill category command post exercise/live fire exercise, i.e. a command post exercise with the simultaneous conduct of kinetic, non-kinetic and logistical activities in a day and night environment.

The exercise, focused on the planning, organization and conduct of a defensive tactical activity, saw the use of over 400 units from the seven countries that contribute to the formation of the battle group and 80 combat vehicles.

For the conduct of the "Shiny Night" an advanced command post was deployed in the Novo Selo training area.

The way in which the exercise was carried out allowed the commander of the battle group, Colonel Michelangelo Genchi, supported by his staff, to conduct the maneuver of the units in real time.

The “Shiny Night” 24 allowed us to test various operational functions. The systems were used at the advanced command post command and control SIACCON and SICCONA aimed at increasing interoperability between the various national and foreign units involved. at strengthening the south-eastern flank to defend citizens and territories from any possible threat.
