In recent days, the land reclamation activity carried out by the Army bomb squad members of the Castel Maggiore railway engineer regiment in the municipality of Imola (BO) was completed, where 1 aircraft bomb was destroyed SAP and 11 high explosive artillery grenades of various calibers, found in the area following the floods that hit Emilia Romagna.
The bombs, all dating back to the Second World War, were found in good condition.
The activity, coordinated by the prefecture of Bologna and by the command of the North Operating Forces of Padua, took place in two distinct phases: the first which saw the specialists engaged in securing the devices found and the second during which the bomb squad engaged in four separate days provided for the safe destruction of the residues.
