Let us take the cue and consider the activities of the ANPd'I of the Rome section as an example of all the work on a national scale. Close to the inauguration of the 161st parachuting course Alexander Prokhorenko (scheduled for October 5, registrations still possible ...), focusing attention on what the parà's weapon association is and what it does seems most appropriate.
In the face of relative visibility and sometimes not immune to prejudice, the ANPd'I continues to work silently.
Born in the second post-war period on the initiative of veterans, the National Paratroopers Association has been recognized by decree of the President of the Republic since 56. Together with the Ministry of Defense, to date, it is the only body authorized to use hemispherical parachutes throughout the national territory.
Among his ranks he counts parà in service, of the reserve, on leave and all those who, attending the course and acquiring the qualification to the launches, become in effect paratroopers and aggregated members.
The activity of the ANPd'I, however, goes far beyond the mere activity of avianulture. In addition to the courses, with training launches and parachuting competitions at national and international level (Italian precision championships, Leapfest international Static Line ...), much care is devoted to other disciplines useful for implementing the spirit of aggregation of members and shared values. Among the terrestrial activities organized in section we mention the marches and ballasts of military interest (Montello, Nijmegen, Nibelungen), the frequent mountain excursions and the sporting competitions of shooting and running.
The commitment in the Civil Protection (section "Giannino Caria") and the sports group in Rome, protagonist of running races (5, 10, 21 and 42 km) and competitions of between, ultra trail 0-100 km and cross racing.
A particular margin of visibility must be reserved for the social activities of the ANPd'I sports group, useful for raising public awareness on sensitive issues. We remember in this regard the participation in the XVIIa edition of the Run for the cure 2016, aimed at combating breast cancer.
All this is possible thanks to two extraordinary energy tanks:
- the human values of being parachutist, summarized by the associative form of the ANPd'I
- the effort of individual members who with different roles and without any gain continue to pursue absolute ideals such as courage, loyalty, sacrifice, identity and sharing.
The beauty of being part of an extraordinary family allows you to continue running and looking ahead. The next appointment is not by chance the "Relay of the ideals", which every year in October, coinciding with the specialty party, winds in a race with the transfer of the torch (of ideals in fact ...) between Rome, Tradate and Pisa.
Yesterday's sacrifice merges with today's commitment, without a break. Children who are about to start the 161st course in three months will be able to wear amaranth Basque; most of all, however, will be the umpteenth witnesses to those virtues that the ANPd'I has the task of not dispersing. In between there are sweat, fatigue, difficulty and courage.
