Alpine Paratroopers in training to test the command and control capacity of the Special Operation Task Group Ranger

The 4th "Ranger" parachute alpine regiment is conducting the "Saber 2016" exercise in the training areas of Bolzano, Folgaria and the Asiago plateau with the objective of testing the command and control capability of the Special Operation Task Group Ranger in a snowy winter mountain environment.

The exercise reproduces a situation of high intensity conflict and aims to test the planning and conduct capacity of different types of Operations, with particular reference to "direct actions", "terminal guidance of support fire" and "special reconnaissance long range ".

The training activity, also aimed at increasing and improving the integration between the different professionals of the Army Special Forces sector, takes part in units of the 185th Objective Acquisition Regiment, of the 28th Operational Communications Regiment with the support of helicopters 3rd AVES Regiment "Aldebaran" and 4th "Altair".
