In order to verify the skills acquired in knowing how to operate at high altitude, the alpine brigades Julia they faced a demanding ski mountaineering activity of high technical level on the Presena and Adamello glaciers (the largest in the Italian Alps).

During the two intense weeks of training, carried out along routes of increasing difficulty and culminating with a RAID ski mountaineer who brought the Alpini to the summit of Mount Adamello (altitude 3554), in addition to the indispensable physical preparation and the necessary skiing skills, the staff put their skills to the test in knowing how to move safely on snow and ice, adapting to the changing conditions meteorological features that characterize the high mountains, in living in emergency conditions by building shelters for overnight stays at particularly cold temperatures and in the search for and recovery of avalanche shocks.

Particularly important for the success of the activity was the information support provided by Meteomont service of the Alpine troops (whose data and avalanche bulletins can be consulted on the site www.meteomont.gov.it).
