It took place this morning, at the Officers' School of the Army, the ceremony of oath of allegiance to the Italian Republic of the XXV "Duty" course.

In the presence of MOVM sergeant major Andrea Adorno, delegate of the Group of Gold Medals for Military Valor of Italy, the student marshals of the first battalion consolidated their choice to serve the country in arms, shouting in unison "I SWEAR" and intoning the Italian anthem in front of the Institute flag, decorated with the Bronze Medal of Army Valor and the Silver Medal of Civil Merit.

The solemnity of the event was underlined by the presence of the Chief of Staff of the Army, General of the Army Corps Pietro Serino, of the commander of the formation, Army Specialization and Doctrine, General of the Army Corps Carlo Lamanna and of the numerous civil and military authorities intervened. Among these were the prefect, doctor Antonio Cananà, the bishop of Viterbo, ser Orazio Francesco Piazza and the magnificent rector of the University of Tuscia, prof. Stefano Ubertini.

General Serino, in underlining the importance of the oath, highlighted that: “It is a commitment that does not allow for exceptions, hesitations or second thoughts: it is the essence of our profession, of our duty. But in choosing to enter this School, facing and overcoming a difficult selection, you have decided to go further, to do more. You have chosen to take on the responsibility of guiding other men and women in the armed defense of the institutions and of the values they uphold. It's not a trivial matter. And above all, it's not for everyone."

La Officers' School of the Army constitutes the reference pole for the basic and advanced training of all the non-commissioned officers of the Armed Force.

At the Viterbo Institute, the marshal students receive a preparation that combines university teaching with a program of technical-professional activities that will lead them, at the end of the training cycle, to operate as platoon commanders of the Army's operational departments.
