This weekend, in the town of San Vito al Tagliamento, the 11 ° meeting of theAmphibious Troops Association.
The event opened on Saturday with the flag-raising ceremony and the deposition of a crown at the monument to the fallen at the town hall, the inauguration of a historical exhibition curated by thehistorical office of the Army General Staff entitled "The Great War" and the opening of the "Villaggio dei Lagunari" with exhibitions and promotional stands.
The culminating moment of the events took place in the Piazza del Popolo with the ceremony celebrating the rally, in the presence of numerous authorities including the undersecretary of defense, Hon. Domenico Rossi, the commander of the Pozzuolo del Friuli brigade, Brigadier General Ugo Cillo and the Mayor of San Vito al Tagliamento. Mr Rossi, together with General Cillo and the national president of the association - general of division (ris.) Luigi Chiapperini, honored the flag of war of the Lagoon regiment "Serenissima" and reviewed the departments deployed.
Undersecretary Rossi, in thanking the intervening authorities and all the citizens present at the event, stressed the importance of the Army and weapon associations as a strategic asset in the country's moral and ethical recovery.
To the lagoons, all the undersecretary Rossi recognized that, with professionalism, a spirit of service and dedication to the homeland, they contributed in a decisive way to guaranteeing the image and prestige of Italy in the world.
Recalling the commitment of the armed forces in the most difficult Italian and foreign operating theaters, the undersecretary Rossi gave everyone an appointment, for the gathering of the 2018, in Vittorio Veneto.
