The ceremony was organized with the intention of retracing the operational and training stages experienced by the men and women of the ward and commemorating in a solemn way how many parachutist sappers have sacrificed their lives in fulfilling their duty.
Numerous civil and military authorities were present, ex paratrooper sappers as well as a large representative of the 173 ^ US Paratrooper Brigade stationed in Vicenza to witness the continuous exchange of experience between allied armies. The Regiment Commander, Colonel Domenico D'Ortenzi, after having given a moving thought to the fallen boys for the ideals of Patria and Libertà, wanted to underline the great commitment made by every member of the department supported, and always supported, by the proximity of each family.
Also present was the commander of the Paratrooper Brigade "Folgore", Brigadier General Giovanni Maria Iannucci who, after greeting the authorities present and recalling the sacrifice of the fallen, expressed words of praise for the unit saying: "this unit has the particular ability to keep the bonds between past and present alive with a careful look towards the future, the engineer is a handsome soldier who makes it possible to operate to others and in any context, if these skills are combined with parachutists, then we are talking of an indispensable unit for me ".
The ceremony was further enhanced with the launch of four effective paratroopers at the sports activity department of the "Folgore" Brigade who, with precise precision, landed for the first time on the square of the "Briscese" barracks, arousing the applause and amazement of the numerous present.
