29/11/14

Last November 24 was held in Mussomeli, in the province of Caltanissetta, the religious ceremony for the return to the birthplace of the remains of the airman of the Regia Aeronautica Giuseppe Esposito, class 1921, died 4 February of 1942 in Libya, in the midst of second World War.

The ceremony, which took place at the church of San Francesco d'Assisi in a climate of great emotion, took part in local military and civil authorities and all the citizens of Mussomeli, who together with the family members of the military were able to re-embrace symbolically, after well 72 years, your beloved dear.

A representative of the Air Force personnel took part in the celebration, reflecting the sense of closeness to the fallen and their families, a value that the armed forces feel guardians of. The family members said they were proud of their late Giuseppe, who sacrificed his young life for those ideals of freedom, democracy and country in which he believed so much.

The mortal remains of Esposito, initially deposited at the Military Memorial of the Fallen of Tripoli, had been transferred to the Military Memorial of the Overseas Caduti in Bari during the first Libyan crisis.
