Completed the 1st course "Imagery Recognition Medical Intelligence"

Six soldiers, belonging to the Air Force and the Navy from the MEDINT office of Joint Intelligence Center have concluded, at the Guidonia Aerocooperation School (RM), the 1 course IM.REC.MEDINT (Imagery Recognition for the staff Medical Intelligence).

The aim of the course is to provide the joint personnel with the ability to treat and manage, at a basic level, the remotely sensed images with particular reference to digital data coming from different types of aerial or satellite sensor and to introduce the visitor to the territory reading techniques through remote sensing data.

In this framework, through the processes of image processing, through analysis, photointerpretation and data extraction from the same, the personnel is directed to the recognition and analysis of the identifying elements of structures of industrial sites and various types of infrastructures.

Certainly an important professional enrichment of the personnel employed in the specific sector.

The Aerocooperation School is the military inter-agency of specialized training and technical-operative value in the field of the interpretation of remote sensing images (aerial and satellite) and in that of aeroterrestre and aeronavale cooperation. For the training and qualification of the Forward Air Controllers, the school commander is the "National Certification Authority".

The courses of the School of Aerocooperation are open, in addition to the military personnel of the Armed Forces, also to personnel outside the Administration of Defense and military personnel of NATO and the countries participating in the International Partnership for Peace program (PfP - Partnership for Peace), subject to authorization by the General Staff Defense.

The training / training processes for Synthetic Aperture Radar Imagery Interpretation (SAR-II), Initial / Advanced Remote Sensing (IRS / ARS) and Forward Air Controllers (FAC) have obtained NATO certification and are published in the course catalog (ETOC) of the Allied Command for Transformation of Norfolk (USA).
