Taranto, Volunteer School: the VFP1 of the 25th Course "Forcide II" swear loyalty

Friday 4th February took place at the Volunteer School of the Air Force of Taranto (SVAM), the swearing-in ceremony of the Volunteers in One Year Fixed (VFP1) belonging to the 25th course Phorcys II (4th incorporation 2021).

Organized in a static form and in full compliance with the containment rules of the Covid-19 emergency, the ceremony was presided over by the commander of the schools command of the AM / 3rd air region, air squad general Silvano Frigerio, in the presence of the military institutions , civilians and religious of the territory and of the Combat and Weapon Associations as well as the families of the 204 students gathered from all over Italy to share this important and suggestive moment in the life of their children.

The commander of the SVAM, Colonel Claudio Castellano, after having addressed a heartfelt thanks to all present, in his speech wanted to underline the solemnity of the ceremony, underlining the importance of the Institute Flag, "which unites and embraces us soldiers and all Italian citizens who recognize the noblest ethical and moral values ​​in the Italian flag", to then address the students reminding them that the training course "... it has made you men and women in blue linked by a sense of belonging and by sharing values ​​such as passion, competence, ethics and awareness ... You are facing a challenging period and you will need to remain credible and consistent in facing your daily professional challenges and personal ... in front of your dearest affections, you will assume a solemn life commitment shouting your I swear to the sky ".

Having recited the solemn and ritual formula of the oath, which aroused in those present a strong sense of belonging to the Nation in the wake of the oath recently made by our President of the Republic, General Frigerio intervened and declared "Fidelity, honor, discipline and sacrifice are the words contained in the formula just pronounced, words that do not constitute a simple and empty proclamation, but that clearly and unequivocally represent the values ​​to which each of you must inspire your daily work of citizens with stars [...] The Air Force needs to be able to count on serious, prepared and motivated men and women; we all rely heavily on your enthusiasm and your precious energies. the pride of being part of the Arma Azzurra and remember that you will contribute to improving it only if each of you can improve himself, having the courage to face, with honesty and conviction, the daily duties.
