Yesterday, Sunday 6 September, at around 13:00, two F-2000 fighters Euro Fighter of the Air Force, on alarm service for the defense of national airspace, carried out an intervention on the order of immediate take-off (in military jargon called "scramble") to intercept and verify a civil aircraft that had lost radio contact with air traffic agencies.

The aircraft, belonging to a civilian company of Austrian nationality, was crossing the Italian airspace along the Moscow-Olbia route, when it interrupted communications, thus triggering the alarm and interception procedure.

The two interceptor fighters of the 4th flock of Grosseto, under the guidance of the controllers of the Air Defense of the 11th GrDAMI of Poggio Renatico, once it was ascertained in a few minutes that radio contacts had been restored and that there was no danger or emergency situation, they resumed their surveillance service of the national airspace.
