AMX rushes, unharmed the pilot

An Air Force AMX fighter crashed this morning, around 9:30 am, in a mountainous area in Carovilli, in the province of Isernia, during a transfer flight. The aircraft, belonging to the Experimental Flight Department (RSV), had departed from the permanent base of Pratica di Mare, near Rome.

The pilot, Captain Francesco Sferra, 35 years, in service to the RSV, was recovered from the local 118 immediately after the launch. It is in good condition; he himself warned the family about what happened.

There are no damages to things or third parties on the ground.

A fire principle has developed on the site of the impact, the shutdown operations are already under way.

The Air Force will appoint a commission of inquiry to ascertain the causes. A flight safety team reached the crash site.
