On Saturday 19 February the first transport to Lebanon of 2.000 liters of carbo-lubricants out of 60.000 donated by ENI and transported by a C-130J of the 46 ^ Air Brigade of Pisa.
These transports will continue throughout the month of March.
This delivery is one of the initiatives in support of Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) established in June 2021 during an international videoconference, which was attended by 20 countries, as well as the UN and the EU, co-chaired by the defense ministers of Italy and France.
The provision of means and materials is one of the pillars of the international commitment to support the strengthening of LAF capacities.
In this context, the Italian Defense, involving a series of donors, is using dedicated funds for over 1M € for the purchase of vehicles, in order to facilitate the mobility of the Lebanese forces, as a priority strategic need envisaged by the LAF and the sale of materials. of the Navy for maintenance of helicopters and ships.
In recent months, food aid, materials for the maintenance of transport vehicles and carbo-lubricants have already been sent to Lebanon from Italy.
In this context, the Italian Defense confirms its determination to continue its commitment, seeking ever greater and better forms of cooperation, within the constraints imposed by national and international legislation.
