The activity, aimed at the release of aviation qualifications in the Technique of the Free Fall (TCL Patent) and for the specialization of Launch Director (DL), was conducted, in collaboration with the Italian military parachuting school of the Italian army, through the air support of C-27 of the 46 ^ Air Brigade of Pisa. The training conducted in "interforce" mode, is a peculiar element of the aeronautical component of the special forces that, for various reasons, operate in both "single service" and in complex operational packages, under the command of the COFS (Command Joint Forces for Special Forces Operations). The purely aeronautical connotation of the incursors of the 17 ° flock is reflected in the qualification of Combat Controller: this figure is the first to be inserted by aviolancio in a potentially hostile or prohibitive territory, to assess the safety conditions of a strip of land, where necessary to soften the enemy presence on the spot, and possibly lead the aerial fire. Only after the operation area has been secured, the Combat Controller is also trained to authorize and guide the landing of aircraft.
The figure of the Combat Controller therefore, in addition to requiring the capabilities of a special force, is also fundamental in the construction of air bridges, evacuation of compatriots, actions to protect national interests and in response to crisis situations.
