The course, lasting two weeks, combines the activity of flying with Twin Astir gliders with the possibility of closely observing life inside a flight department of the Air Force, and is part of the extra-school supplementary activities times the expansion of knowledge and character formation.
The activity includes a cycle of theoretical lessons and four flights of basic conduct, for a total of about two hours of flight for each student. The short time between the theoretical lessons and the flying activity makes the theory-practice transition even more effective, favoring student learning.
Flying with the glider confirms to be a very effective tool for training pilots, thanks to the aerodynamic characteristics of the vehicles used, the coordination required for their conduct and, not least, the low operating cost of the vehicles used.
