2024 will be a special year for Frecce Tricolori, the National Acrobatic Team turns 63 today, an occasion that allows us to remember a particular moment in its history. In fact, it was 1 March 1961 when the first six F86 "Sabre" arrived at the Rivolto air base from the 4th Air Brigade of the prancing Horse, ready to form what would become the largest aerobatic team in the world.

But this is also an opportunity to remember that next summer, after more than 30 years of absence, the patrol will fly to Canada and the United States, protagonist of a complex tour that includes a series of events and overseas overflights.

The season will open on March 21st with the flyover in Pozzuoli and then end on November 4th in Rome.

The aircraft supplied to the PAN is the MB-339A PAN, a version with a smoke generator, which allows the National Acrobatic Team to paint the longest Italian tricolor in the skies of the world.

The 313th aerobatic training group, this is the official name of the Frecce Tricolori, is a flight department of the Air Force made up of approximately 100 soldiers, who are entrusted with the task of representing the capabilities of the entire Armed Forces.

Since 1 March 1961, the date of its establishment on the Rivolto air base (UD), the National Acrobatic Team, which recently concluded its 63rd season, has had the honor of representing, with its spectacular aerial acrobatics, the over 40.000 men and women of the Air Force and the values they carry forward every day: cohesion, team spirit, professionalism, dedication and sacrifice. This makes it a symbol of our Armed Forces and of Italy in the world.
