For about 100 years, the prancing horse has inextricably linked the Ferrari team and the Air Force, a combination that has its historical roots during the First World War, with the deeds of the Ace degli Assi aviation, Major Francesco Baracca.

For this reason, to celebrate the 1000th Grand Prix of the Ferrari team in Formula 1, on Sunday 13 September the Air Force will open the Ferrari 1000 GP of Tuscany with the flyover of a fighter team Euro Fighter which, just like the SPAD S.XIII of Baracca, carry the rampant horse on the fuselage, a symbol that still today characterizes the flight departments of the Armed Force that daily ensure the Defense of national airspace and NATO.

In particular, these are interceptor fighters Euro Fighter belonging to the 9th flight group of the 4th flock of Grosseto and the 10th and 12th flight group of the 36th flock of Gioia del Colle (BA).

Once again the link between the world of Formula 1 engines and the Air Force is renewed. Only on 6 September, in fact, the MB-339PAN aircraft of the Frecce Tricolori they spread the Tricolore on the 2020 Italian Grand Prix in Monza just before the start of the race.

Engines and speed, but also technology, innovation and above all team spirit, key elements that unite the flight departments of the Air Force and the Formula 1 teams.
