Double sanitary flight for the 31 ° Stormo

27/04/15

On Saturday morning, on order of the Top Situation Room of the Air Squad Command, a Falcon 50 aircraft from Ciampino's 31 ° Stormo took off for Venice to embark a medical team of the Resuscitation Department of the Padua Hospital and leave immediately to go to the city of Monastir in Tunisia.

The mission was necessary to repatriate a 4-year-old Italian-Tunisian child in imminent danger of life. In addition to the presence of a resuscitator, the delicate condition of the child required the embarkation of ventilation equipment and other systems for monitoring all vital signs. Arriving in Venice in the afternoon, the child was immediately transferred to the Reanimation Department of the Padua Hospital.

Several hours later, another 50 Falcon 31 Stormo was alerted by the Operations Room for a new immediate take-off ordered from the Top Situation Room. The mission saw the transport of a child of only 3 years from Lamezia Terme Airport to Florence Peretola to allow the small patient to be admitted to the Resuscitation Department of the Mayer Pediatric Hospital.

The child, suffering from severe respiratory failure, was assisted throughout the flight by a resuscitator and a nurse.
