Present were the general of the air division Gian Franco Camperi, commander of the Institute of Military Aeronautical Sciences of Florence, military and civil authorities of the city as well as representatives of local educational institutions.
The presentation of the certificates was preceded by the solemn flag-raising ceremony, at the end of which the Fides course greeted the teachers and staff of the Douhet School and of the Institute of Aeronautical Military Sciences, who hosted them during the three years, in parade. attendance, as well as all the guests present.
In his introductory speech, Colonel Claudio Icardi, commander and head teacher of the Douhet School, underlined, addressing the newly graduated girls and boys that "the final grade is a number, it can be more or less pleasing ... but what matters is skills for life. Those who leave here thinking they are first or mortified because they are not, are wrong! Each of you has your own talent, your own path to follow to which you can add the elements you have learned here: passion, commitment and hard work ". Colonel Icardi, concluding his speech, urged the students to" not lose the habit of the code and the rules that you have internalized here, made yours and not subjected: the order of things is the order of ideas ".
The captain of the course, captain Sergio Paparelli, thanked, in his speech, the families and especially his students, who have contributed, significantly, to face with great passion and strong commitment this extraordinary professional experience and life.
At the end of the ceremony, General Camperi, also addressing the students, focused on the meaning of their demanding choice: "... healthy, strong and courageous that led you to be part of our aeronautical family, where you could reach an important intellectual and physical growth ".
The 36 young graduates, including seven women, have achieved excellent results at the end of the exams. In particular, five students achieved top marks, 100 / 100, and among these a boy obtained praise.
