Cortina 2021, Alpine World Ski Championships: the Frecce Tricolori spread the Tricolor flag on the Dolomites

The Frecce Tricolori have spread the longest Tricolor in the world over the skies of Cortina: today, Sunday 14 February, on the occasion of one of the most iconic races of the Cortina 2021 Alpine Ski World Championships, the MB-339 PAN aircraft of the Aerobatic Team Nazionale have spread the green, white and red of the Italian flag on the finish line of the downhill before the start of the men's race around 10:00.

In a breathtaking setting, among the majestic peaks of the Dolomites, a UNESCO heritage site, the Frecce Tricolori carried out the first overflight of 2021, a prelude to an acrobatic season that will once again represent the ability of the men and women of the Air Force to team up Military, with the aim of bringing a message of hope, solidarity, economic and social recovery.

Preparation, speed, technology and team spirit are just some of the elements that unite alpine skiing athletes and the staff of the Frecce Tricolori, and more generally of the Air Force.

The Frecce Tricolori are back after 40 years on the skies of Cortina d'Ampezzo: it was January 7, 1981 when the National Aerobatic Team spread the tricolor fumes on the occasion of the opening of the Bob World Championships hosted by the Queen of the Dolomites.

For the Frecce Tricolori, 2021 represents a particular year: on March 1, in fact, the PAN will celebrate its 60th anniversary. Today's overflight represented the first appointment on a journey towards this important anniversary.
