Last Saturday the volunteers completed the planned training process. The training course, divided into two phases, began on June 10 and saw the first round of education and training organized by SVTAM, with the assignment of the "Operational Support" category (1 ^ phase) and a second, dedicated to the acquisition of the "Difesa Terrestre" specialty, by the 16 ° flock of Martina Franca (2 ^ phase).
The purpose of the first phase was to provide the base with military and professional training, necessary for use in the armed force as VFP1. A series of knowledge, skills and abilities that include the understanding of Defense as a whole and of the various armed forces, the organization of military aeronautics, local protection and essential elements of land combat, the use of individual weapons and CBRN equipment supplied; last but not least the ability to carry out the first interventions of first aid and fire prevention.
The theoretical and practical training was ensured by a pool of SVTAM teachers and instructors in collaboration with qualified personnel from other bodies / departments, such as the AM / 3 ^ RA School Command, the 36 ° flock of Gioia del Colle and the 16 ° flock of Martina Franca.
The second phase was carried out entirely by the staff of the 16 ° flock: training in land combat, weapons and shooting, topography and CBRN orientation and defense are some of the subjects dealt with, especially on a practical level. Targeted was the teaching of individual, team and combat platoon techniques, simulating various tactical contexts; all using day and night movement, masking and observation techniques. The disassembly / assembly of the individual, collective and team light equipment and the polygon activity are results of great interest among the young volunteers, who with practical training were able to test what they learned during the theoretical lessons.
News of the course the first lessons of "military struggle": after a first theoretical phase a practice followed, aimed at transmitting the ability to manage, without the use of weapons, events and situations of danger during the sentry / post service or patrol activities and check points.
