30/11/14

Last Monday, at the Pomezia (RM) headquarters of Finmeccanica Selex ES, an agreement was signed for the exchange of goods and services between the Aerocooperation School and Finmeccanica Selex ES.

The initiative stems from a mutual interest in the respective sectors of competence, in which the two institutions, both institutional and productive, express national excellence and are part of the broader and more established industry-defense partnership.

In particular, the School of Aerocooperation will contribute to the professional growth and subsequent certification of the skills acquired by the staff of Finmeccanica Selex ES in the field of interpretation of remote sensing images from multisensor systems, while Finmeccanica Selex ES will provide its collaboration and experience in the realization, in areas of the School to be dedicated and equipped for the purpose, of an "immersive" environment in which to host a simulation system for the training of FAC - Forward Air Controllers (Advanced Air Controllers). The School already has a simulator, for which the process of acquiring NATO certification has been started.

During the meeting, the commander of the SAC, General Giunchi, expressed the hope "that the collaboration established today can be further developed, within the framework of a fruitful and lasting exchange of experiences and skills".

The School of Aerocooperation is the military interforces institute specialized training and technical-operational value in the field of interpretation of remote sensing images (aerial and satellite) and in that of aeroterrestrial and aeronaval cooperation. For the training and qualification of Advanced Air Controllers, the School has also recently obtained NATO certification.

The courses held at the Aerocooperation School are open not only to the military personnel of the armed forces, but also to personnel outside the defense administration and to the military personnel of NATO and the countries participating in the international Partnership for Peace program (PfP - Partnership for Peace), subject to authorization by the Defense General Staff.
