05/08/14

Yesterday at the 23.30 a helicopter HH-139 of the air rescue of the 82 ° CSAR center (Combat Search and Rescue) of the 15 ° flock of Trapani-Birgi was alerted to carry out emergency transport on the island of Ponza (LT) an eighty-one year old in "code 3", that is in imminent danger of life.

The helicopter took off from Trapani on the order of the RCC (Rescue Coordination Center) of the Operations Room of the Air Operations Command (COA) of Poggio Renatico (FE). He reached the military airport of Latina, home of the 70 ° flock, where he boarded a doctor and a paramedic to assist the elderly islander. After the brief stop in Latina, the HH-139A landed at the Teleposto pitch of the island of Ponza (LT).

Once in Ponza the old man was embarked on the HH-139A then again taken off to Latina. It was a particularly delicate transfer given the extremely serious conditions of the patient who kept the doctor and the aerosor on board until the arrival in Latina.

The crew, once left the elderly person in the care of the doctors of the 118, stopped at the air base in Pratica di Mare (Rome) for refueling. Subsequently the helicopter left for Trapani. The 82 ° CSAR center is one of the departments of the 15 ° wing of the air force, based in Cervia (RA), which guarantees 24 hours on 24, for 365 days a year, search and rescue of flight crews in difficulty, also contributing to activities of public utility such as the search for missing people at sea or in the mountains, emergency medical transport of sick people in danger of life and the rescue of serious traumatized persons. From its establishment to today, the crews of the 15 ° flock have saved about 7.000 people in danger of life.
