General Esposito, who left active service after 46 years, expressed his heartfelt thanks in his speech to the armed force and the corps of aeronautical genius who have allowed him to serve his homeland with pride. He then addressed a thought to the colleagues of the "Grifo III" course present, thanking them with affection for their participation.
Subsequently, General Esposito recalled the years he spent as head of the aeronautical genius corps, thanking all the staff who humbly and effectively carried out their service: "[...] because the body of engineers is an integral part of the connective tissue of force armed, as such it must live in symbiosis with the other components and be operational members of the great aeronautics structure [...] ", in the awareness" [...] that the path must be built day by day with dedication and sincere commitment and passionate in the daily work. We must be heroes day after day for commitment, dedication, altruism and honesty [...] ", reminding everyone of the importance of being" faithful guardians of our most beautiful traditions, respecting the teachings of our founding fathers and indicate them as a reference of nobility of mind and motivation ". General Esposito ended his speech by wishing everyone an affectionate and sincere wish to live the relationship of love with the blue weapon with such strength as to always be able to overcome contingent and environmental difficulties and to feel the same pride and same emotion felt by him when he leaves the active service.
General Langella thanked the Air Force Chief of Staff for the trust placed in him in entrusting him with the job and, at the same time, took the opportunity to extend a warm greeting to General Esposito, whose person has meant so much to the aeronautical genius and for all the entities in which he carried out his tireless work. He then expressed his emotion because "[…] I receive a witness that has passed through illustrious hands. The hands of those men who contributed to writing together with the operational component of the armed force, the history of the military air force". Finally, General Langella declared that he proudly assumed this role "[…] being fully aware of the difficulties and challenges that will have to be faced in a general situation that is not easy in terms of resources".
At the end of the ceremony the Chief of the Air Force took the floor and thanked General Esposito for the fruitful work done during his period of command and, addressing General Langella, he wished him the best successes in guiding the body of the aeronautical genius.
