It took place on Wednesday 20 January, at the command of Experimental Flight Center (CSV) of Pratica di Mare, the swearing-in ceremony for the changeover to actual permanent service of the head of the "Chemistry" category, "Laboratory" specialty, assigned at the chemical department CSV.

The ceremony was presided by the commander of the CSV, general of air division Fabio Molteni, in the presence of the chief chemical department (RC), Colonel Manuele Bernabei.

The swearing staff has achieved the specific qualification at the end of a training process started at the Specialist School of Caserta of Caserta and then continued with a period of "on job training" at the chemical department, which was followed by the final assignment.

The chief airmen on duty at the RC of the CSV represent the first course for the "Chemistry" category open to the graduated personnel of the AM, in particular, for the RC, they constitute a consistent contribution to work and at the same time the opportunity to transfer to new generations of laboratory technicians the know-how developed by the department over the years.

Il chemical department performs appraisal / investigation, testing and control activities on a wide variety of aeronautical materials. The investigation activity carried out by the RC is often carried out within its own facilities but jointly with the aeronautical companies involved (Alenia Aermacchi, Piaggio, Lockeed Martin, Rolls Royce, Airbus). In addition to the aforementioned bodies, the ordinary judiciary, through its own prosecutor's offices, often requires the support of staff from the chemical department as Technical Office Consultant (CTU) on the occasion of events connected with the flight activity for which the investigating authority considers it necessary to carry out a technical investigation.

The consolidated professionalism of the staff, the supply of advanced equipment, the continuous contacts and exchanges with important national and foreign research institutes and, not least, the possession of the ISO 9001-2008 quality certification, which contributes to the value of the results of the study and research activities also from a commercial point of view, make the Experimental Flight Center a resource of great value for the Italian Air Force and, more generally, for the country.

The ever more intense collaborations with the major national and foreign scientific institutes make the Experimental Flight Center one of the main research institutions of our country and in Europe, as well as civil and military aircraft certification bodies.
