Aeronautica Militare, Innovation Days: new technologies at the service of safety

A series of meetings and webinars dedicated to the presentation of new study, research and application projects in the field of Digital Innovation & Transformation, developed together with leading international companies and technological partners: this is the main theme of Innovation Days organized by the Air Force which started yesterday, Tuesday 25 May, at the IT and Automated Systems Department (ReSIA) of the Armed Force in Rome.

The event, which saw the presence of the chief of staff AM, general of the air squad Alberto Rosso, of the logistic commander AM, general of the air squad Giovanni Fantuzzi, of representatives of the university world and of the partner companies in the projects presented - Cisco, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPe) and DEAS - is part of the research projects promoted by the Italian Air Force with the "Logistics 4.0" plan, a vast program of innovation of organizational and technological processes developed thanks to a close and fruitful collaboration creative with universities, start-ups, SMEs and major players in the national aerospace industry.

“Looking at innovation and new technologies, developing new skills also in the logistics sector, to work more effectively, efficiently and with less waste of energy and resources, is a duty and at the same time a great opportunity. With this event we have the opportunity to bring a further step into a growth process that allows us to enhance young people, technology and the ability to look to the future " - these are the words of the air squad general Alberto Rosso, chief of staff of the Air Force, on the sidelines of the event.

The initiative is part of the Digital Innovation Hangar - Aeronautica Militare, a project with which the logistics command AM intends to consolidate specific skills in the use of emerging technologies by automating organizational processes for the benefit of resource optimization and the quality of services.

On the occasion, a series of projects for the study, research and application of new technologies to the processes and activities of the '' Aeronautica Militare, developed in-house by the specialists of the Armed Force, already in the testing and application phase. Among these, an application for the remote maintenance of aeronautical equipment, developed with technology BlockchainNatural Language Processing e Artificial Intelligence; two access control and digital identity systems, developed through Artificial IntelligenceComputer VisionBlockchain e Biometric Authentication / Identification; a system of object detection, developed with Artificial Intelligence technology to automate and support analysis functions of the image data collected by the platforms Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (ISR) of the Italian Air Force.

A series of webinars reserved for Armed Force personnel will be held until 4 June, in which some of the most current issues in the IT field will be discussed, including process automation, the application of biometrics and Artificial Intelligence. the protection of infrastructures and voice commands and mobile apps applied to the concept of smart office.
