Major Gianmarco Di Loreto and captain Marco Mangini, pilots of the Italian Air Force, completed the transition course on the F16 aircraft on 2015 December 35. The course started on September 15th.

They were the first Italian pilots to qualify on the aircraft in question.

The course, called TX1B, took place at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona and was divided into two phases: the ground school took place at the Academic Training Center (ATC) where frontal lessons and simulators were held while the flights took place at the 61st Fighter Squadron (61FS) on single-seat aircraft of partner nations.

A course module (water survival) was played at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida.
