The 200.000 deaths from COVID in China and other stories hidden in official statistics

"A lie has time to travel halfway around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes" (Mark Twain)

During the sars-cov-2 pandemic, two data, obsessively transmitted by national and regional authorities in the official bulletins, unfortunately became familiar to us: the number of cases and that of victims, in almost all countries published daily. It has often been heard of "efficient tracking" or "crisis of the tracking system", as if the "positives" could be counted as the cars registered with the DMV or the tourists who have check-in in hotels, thus reaching the absurd conclusion at certain moments that in Italy the deaths from COVID-19 were two, three or even five percent of cases, that is to say a new Spanish flu.

Equally, we have seen the death toll caused by the pandemic, an absurd calculation because scientists have not yet produced a paradigm for reading the data.

Let me explain: I don't mean that we put on the list of deaths from COVID-19 even those who broke their heads falling in the bathroom while they were in quarantine (NB we did, but more or less compensate for the undetected positives, I like think), but I cannot ignore the fact that many tens of thousands of terminally ill and elderly people over XNUMX have ended up in the account, for whom no one would have dreamed in the past to indicate the flu or another infectious disease as a cause of death, while now they are "dead of COVID".

Why should a person with four or five diseases and according to doctors with two or three months left to live, according to colleagues of those same doctors, should be listed among the victims of the pandemic? Do we write about a death from HIV that he died of pneumonia?

That said, it is impossible to ignore the many anomalies in the pandemic death toll. First, the fact that official statistics in many countries exclude victims who did not test positive for the coronavirus before they died, which may being a substantial majority in nations with little testing capacity and little or no willingness to let the world know how many cases there really are.

Second, in other countries, including in Europe, hospitals and civil registers do not process death certificates for several days or even weeks, which creates data delays. And third, the pandemic has made it more difficult for doctors to treat other conditions and discouraged people from going to hospital, which may have indirectly caused an increase in deaths from diseases other than Covid-19.

There is, however, a solution to overcome these problems in order to understand the impact of the pandemic and its side effects and it is quite simple: just count the "excess deaths", ie take the number of people who die by any cause in a certain nation and in a given period, then compare it with a historical basis of recent years. To make things as easy as possible to understand, in the following lines I have taken the number of deaths in the two years preceding the pandemic (2018 and 2019) of some countries and compared them with those of the two-year period 2020-2021, based on the figures officers. I have examined some very representative countries, if only because they host more than half of the world population, which I have divided here into five categories, based on the differential between the official deaths of coronavirus and the total deaths recorded in the country. It is not just a question of numbers, as you will see ...

The "normal"

These are the countries where we see a difference between the number of excess deaths and the official cases of COVID-19 of between 100 and 133 excess deaths for every 100 "positive" deaths. To give an example, in the two years of the pandemic Germany recorded about 131.000 more deaths, compared to 112.000 human lives lost while infected with sars-cov-2: therefore, dividing the difference between these two figures, that is about 19.000 for the number of deaths from COVID-19, it can be deduced with extreme simplicity that there is a 17% of excess deaths that are either collaterally caused by the pandemic (for example, cancer patients not treated adequately) or are "positive "Not recorded in official statistics.

In Italy, this figure is around 20%, in line with Germany. Countries heavily affected by the pandemic such as Brazil (21%) and the United States (32%) also fall into this "club".

The "pardoned"

Remember Sweden, which stubbornly refused to follow China and Italy in implementing lockdown mass and insisted that its constitution does not allow for the placement of innocent people under house arrest? Do you remember the outraged press campaigns against the Scandinavian "state massacre"? Well, the statistics of excess deaths (almost 9.000) say they are almost 40% lower than the cases of deaths from COVID-19 (15.000). What does it mean? They simply had a large number of cases, that they were too zealous in counting the dead and that… some of the dead fell into categories of people who would have died anyway. It didn't just happen to the Swedes: the United Kingdom (-10%), France (-18%) and India (-50%) also offered the same scenario, a sign that a very fragile population has been affected (due to epidemic diseases in the continent Indian, by seniority in Europe).

I "I would like to count them, but I can't"

It is a typical phenomenon of Eastern Europe such as bortsch and vodka: Poland, Romania and Ukraine have between 50 and 80% more deaths than the official coronavirus statistics. The impression is that of finding oneself in front of countries that have behaved like those students who in class assignments concentrate completely on solving the first page of the assignment, but then don't even try to do the second. Call it, if you like, imperfect tracking ...

The "pinocchietti"

Ladies and gentlemen, here we are in the Olympus of creativity of those who wanted, for more or less legitimate reasons, to hide the actual number of COVID-19 cases from their citizens and from the world. Let's start from Mexico, where perhaps inefficiency could have done more than malice: the excess deaths were just under 700.000 against almost 300.000 victims of COVID-19: in short, 128% more.

What about Russia? Almost a million excess deaths are offset by "just" (so to speak ...) 309.000 deaths from sars-cov-2: a difference of 210%, just justified by the fact that in 2021 they had elections and it was necessary to hide the biggest massacre of Russians since the Second World War… They did worse than the South Africans, who stopped at a 200% difference, while Egypt went up to almost 500%.

People's China has betrayed itself, without the world saying anything: 200.000 excess deaths compared to less than 5.000 official deaths from the pandemic: 46 times that! It turns out that we have found the true numbers of deaths in the homeland of COVID-19!

The "smart guys"

Japan and Turkey, respectively, counted 20.000 and more than 80.000 deaths from COVID-19 in the two-year period under review: it would have to be said that they fared better than others, were it not for the fact that after 2019 they no longer published official figures on the number of deaths in the country. In short, they make it impossible to calculate the excess deaths and ultimately hide the true proportions of the massacre. By doing so, they lead us to suspect that it was a massacre ...
