"32 days in Afghanistan" - chapter 7: Bamiyan and back

20/06/14

(May 2012) I come to Bamiyan: a pearl enclosed in the middle of Afghanistan. An anomalous, peaceful, simply spectacular place. One of the features of the ancient "Silk Road" surrounded by the dangers of the recent past (rebel bands everywhere beyond the mountains) and with the unknown future.

The valley is known for hosting the niches of Buddha statues, which were destroyed by the Taliban in 2001. Due to the further deterioration of the safety conditions of the roads to Kabul, I am able to arrange a ride on a United Nations flight (Other than from Europe, when do we leave the UN? !!!). After this last drain I have the "beeps!" full and you return home.

Good vision!
