(April 2012) Before leaving for Bamiyan I am being hosted by friends and experience the famous "Afghan hospitality" in a suburb near Mazar. Then we leave for the longest, most difficult and most dangerous journey.
Disguised (as far as possible) as an Afghan I spend 12 "intense" hours with the fear of being discovered by bandits present at refreshment points along the road or in the city where I have to change vehicles ...
