Last weekend in Pisa the Italian rowing titles on the 6000m distance were awarded in the specialty of "4 without coxswain" and "double".

"... considering the gap, I didn't think it necessary to call the final sprint!", commented the Olympic champion Giovanni Abagnale - capovoga of the Navy crew, completed by Andrea Maestrale, Ivan Capuano and Gabriel Soares - at the end of the competition.

In fact, the sailors close the race "smoothly", as they usually say in sports environments, with a gap of about 40 seconds on the runners-up and recording, gold in gold, the same time subsequently marked by the crew of the senior class , armed with 3 athletes medaled in Rio 2016.

In the light weight category, excellent second placement of the crew of the "double", made up of the athletes Catello Amarante and the newly enlisted Antonio Vicino who had to surrender only to the crew of the Carabinieri Sports Group (formerly GS Forestale) Miani-Oppo.

A few days of rest now awaits our athletes who meet at the Rowing Center of Sabaudia for a new training session before facing, in February, the next national meeting and the new tests with the Italian Rowing Federation.
