The Army at the Padua Marathon

The Army took part today in the 24th edition of the Padua Marathon, with a large representation of over 130 participants from the command North Operating Forces, led by the commander, general of the army corps Maurizio Riccò.

The various competitions (marathon, half marathon and the 1, 5 and 10 km city races) were kicked off by the spectacular launch of the paratroopers of the sports activities department of the "Folgore" brigade with the Italian, Army and Assindustria flags Sport, applauded by the thousands of people present in Prato della Valle.

Equal enthusiasm was aroused by the Fanfare of the 11th Bersaglieri Regiment which enlivened the salient phases of the sporting event with music, which was attended by over twenty thousand r.

They were also set up in the areas adjacent to the start, by the command North Operating Forces, a promotional info-point of the Army, visited mainly by young people looking for information on the training and professional opportunities offered by the Armed Force, and the "Lagunari Training Camp", where the public was able to compete in various recreational and motor activities , assisted by the expert trainers of the "Serenissima" regiment.

​With participation in the Padua Marathon, also, the command North Operating Forces of the Army has concretely supported the initiatives of the Città della Speranza Foundation, a non-profit organization active in the field of pediatric research and assistance.
