Today, at the Hall of Angels of the Unified Circle of the Armed Forces, the signing ceremony of the employment contract took place between five civilian athletes and the defense paralympic sports team.
This ceremony seals an important moment for the athletes who, after a selection process and having won a specific Defense tender, sign a contract that will allow them to play the sport of excellence in a professional manner and with the aim of reaching the best possible results in the most relevant international sports competitions.
“The Paralympic Defense Sports Group is a big family that is growing” these are the words of the Chief of Defense Staff, who attended the ceremony which was also attended by Major General Alfonso Manzo, head of the V SMD department and president of the Defense Paralympic Sports Team and the lawyer Luca Pancalli, president of Paralympic Italian committee.
GSPD athletes regularly participate in national and international championships in each individual discipline. Military athletes also participate in international competitions reserved for uniformed personnel, such as CISM (Athletics, Swimming, Archery), Marine Corps Trials and Invictus Games.
