Foscari ship with the children of the “Missionaries Sisters Mother Theresa Calcutta” orphanage in Tema (Ghana)

Nave's commitment continues Commander Foscari in the GABINIA operation to combat piracy in the waters of the Gulf of Guinea.

Last September 30th, during the operational stop in the port of Tema (Ghana) and as part of the Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC), the crew of the Navy patrol vessel participated in the charity event at the "Missionaries Sisters Mother Theresa Calcutta" orphanage. The crew provided concrete help by delivering basic necessities, as well as useful material for the children's school activities. Furthermore, by exploiting their professional skills, the sailors contributed to the improvement of the infrastructural conditions of the area, carrying out ordinary maintenance work.

During the day there was no shortage of moments to spend time with the children for games and expressions of affection. The occasion allowed the spirits of the Nave crew to be refreshed Foscari, who emerged reinvigorated thanks to the extraordinary humanitarian experience he had, from which renewed energy was drawn for the continuation of the mission off the coast of Africa.

Dr. Sara Baldi, president of the GIWA (Ghana Italian Women Association) expressed words of gratitude and affection for the men and women of the Navy.

The ship's commander Foscari, frigate captain Daniele Inguscio, with great pride expressed his gratitude towards his crew: "These humanitarian activities, in which our women and men participate in an absolutely spontaneous way making a real and concrete contribution, characterize the spirit of the Navy crews and are the practical and tangible demonstration of the versatility of use of our Armed Force".
