Somalia: civil-military cooperation activities continue in favor of the population of Mogadishu

In recent weeks the cell of civil-military cooperation (CIMIC), included in the command of the Italian national contingent in Somalia, has implemented various projects in the humanitarian field, professional training and infrastructure improvement, for the benefit of the local population of Mogadishu.

The Italian soldiers were also involved in the field of professional training, creating a course for the treatment and conservation of fish products for members of vulnerable groups in the Benadir Region. Course carried out in collaboration with the local “Hibo Fishery” development cooperative, which offers attendees a concrete opportunity to enter the world of work.

The activity of the Italian contingent in favor of the people continued incessantly even during the Ramadan period. In recent days, the CIMIC Cell has implemented a project in favor of the Xamar Weyne District for the modernization of some infrastructures dedicated to public activities.

In this activity, the support of the company is of fundamental importance Force Protection Unit, made up of a company of the "Serenissima" lagoon regiment, which ensures the safety of the Italian contingent during external activities.
