This morning the European Multi-Mission Frigate (FREMM) Carabiniere of the Navy has arrived in Singapore, where it will stop until 19 March.

After the stops in Saudi Arabia, in Jeddah, and in Sri Lanka, in Colombo, the unit sailed along the Australian coast visiting Fremantle, Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne, taking part in various exercises with the local navies, and then returned to the of Indonesia, visiting Jakarta, and then arriving in Singapore.

The campaign, started from La Spezia last December 20, will see Ship in the coming months Carabiniere undertake the return journey through South-East Asia, Pakistan and Oman.

On Wednesday 15 March at the local 14.30 (07.30 in Italy) the commander of the ship, frigate captain Francesco Pagnotta, will hold a press conference on board during which he will present the ongoing naval campaign and illustrate the ship, a jewel of Italian shipbuilding.

Ship Carabiniere is the fourth FREMM unit delivered to the Italian Navy in the "anti-submarine" 2015 version in April and is equipped with the latest generation weapon system, defense and discovery, at the forefront both in the military and civil sectors.

The unit will be committed to ensuring presence, maritime surveillance, strengthening existing co-operation activities with some trans-regional allies and establishing relationships with new potential partners in the core of institutional tasks entrusted to the Armed Forces.

The Nave campaign Carabiniere reflects an international vision that traces this beginning of the millennium as a "blue century". That of "blue growth" is considered a key factor on which to aim for sustainable development of our country in a context where maritime is a fundamental resource for commercial growth, employment and technology.

The initiative was born with the collaboration of Fincantieri (main sponsor), Leonardo, MBDA Italia, Elettronica and Telespazio.
