Mission in Lebanon: training of the Lebanese armed forces continues

Under the guidance of the instructors of the 183rd "Nembo" parachute regiment, about twenty graduates and non-commissioned officers of the Lebanese armed forces, faced theoretical and practical aspects relating to the characteristics of use of individual weapons such as the Colt M4 rifle and the Beretta PX pistol. Storm and compliance with safety standards and technical procedures for dynamic and operational shooting.

This concludes the first course Weapon Handling and Shooting Techniques in favor of the Lebanese Armed Forces, held by the peacekeepers framed in the Italian-led battalion of ITALBATT, a maneuver Task Force, located at the Al Mansouri base and advanced operational sites.

ITALBATT contributes with the Battle Groups of other nations to the control of the Blue Line and the territory of southern Lebanon in assistance to the Lebanese armed forces. The ITALBATT assets are equipped with armored vehicles, VTLM Lynx and armed armor Centaur.

The aforementioned courses are of fundamental importance as, in addition to ensuring greater preparation from an operational point of view, improving the training level of military personnel, on techniques and procedures aimed at a practical, safe and defensive use of weapons, they strengthen the synergy between the departments of the "Thunderbolt" and the Lebanese armed forces which, as part of the UNIFIL mission, always operate in a joint and coordinated manner to maintain the conditions of stability in the delicate southern area of ​​the country. Joint training among Italian peacekeepers and the Lebanese armed forces, in addition to representing a fundamental aspect in order to operate at maximum capacity and in safety, remain one of the most important elements of the UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon) mission to continue to guarantee the stability of the area.
