At the headquarters of the Engineering Regiment in Beirut, in the presence of Colonel Farhat del training directorate, by Colonel Ousmane representing the commander of theengineering regiment and the deputy commander of the Italian Bilateral Military Mission in Lebanon Lieutenant Colonel Marco Pelliccioni, the closing ceremony of the 4 "Lebanese Armed Forces Martial Art (LAFMA) Basic" courses took place from 12 September to 2 December 2022.

The four courses, each lasting 3 weeks, were conducted by previously trained LAF instructors, under the constant supervision of a Mobile Training Team composed of 3 instructors of the Parachuting Training Center (CAPAR) of the Italian Army, and allowed to train n. 80 Officers from various units of the LAF.

The officers thus trained will be able to start courses for the training of individual fighters each in their own department.

During the courses activities aimed at allowing the participants to learn all those intervention techniques to be used in hand-to-hand combat were carried out.

Over the years, this method of combat has proved to be very useful for the Italian Army in all circumstances in which the use of weapons is not appropriate. In Italy, every soldier must achieve a minimum level of training in this method of combat before any operational activity.

The enthusiasm shown during the course and the considerable commitment made by the Lebanese staff, in concert with the work of the instructors of the Mobile Training Team of MIBIL, have allowed the full success of the training course.

The excellent results achieved by the personnel of the Lebanese Armed Forces with the contribution of the personnel of the national training mission have made it possible to further consolidate the link between the Italian Armed Forces and the Lebanese Armed Forces.
