14/11/23

The specialty courses, aimed at Djiboutian policemen and gendarmes, on "Nurses for quadrupeds", "Police techniques for female personnel" and "Fighting waste trafficking" have ended.

The training activities were carried out by instructors from the Carabinieri at the Police Academies in Djibouti and the Gendarmerie in Artà.

Particular attention and curiosity aroused the course for nurses for quadrupeds, an absolute novelty, aimed at training personnel who will deal with the management of health emergencies in the dog sector. The Italian instructors, veterinary officers of the Army, covered theoretical subjects on the anatomy, physiology, management of the dog and related diseases, reserving a practical part on surgical methodologies and the interpretation of diagnostic imaging.

The course of Police techniques for female personnel, taught by MIADIT instructors and attended by local police students, was based on the theme of human rights, gender violence, then moving on to control, search and handcuffing techniques and the observation, control and stalking.

With the course of Fight against waste trafficking, in favor of the gendarme students, we wanted to raise the students' awareness of basic concepts such as that of "environment", of health protection in the environmental field and of the consequences of incorrect waste management, accompanying the theoretical teachings with technical-practical activities and analysis of the main international scenarios in the field of illicit waste trafficking.

The first two courses indicated will also be offered again in the coming weeks to the dog units and female personnel of the Djibouti Gendarmerie, adapting the programs to the actual needs represented by the peculiarities of their organization.
