The banner of the 132nd tank regiment arrived in Bulgaria

The banner of the 132nd tank regiment of Cordenons has arrived in the Novo Selo Training Area, headquarters of the Italian contingent command and of the Forward Land Force battle group of NATO in Bulgaria, which is currently made up of soldiers from the 6th Bersaglieri Regiment of Trapani.

Welcomed with military honors, in the presence of the current commander of the battle group, Colonel Michelangelo Genchi and personnel of both regiments, the historic banner will be kept together with the War Flag of the 6th regiment.

The latter will return to Italy at the end of the formal rotation ceremony of the contingents, and will sanction the simultaneous transfer of the command authority of the battle group multinational to Colonel Mariano Rocco Scandurra, commander of the 132nd tank regiment.

The banner of the 132nd tank regiment is decorated with a Gold Medal for Military Valor and a Bronze Medal for Army Valor.

The Cordenons regiment is an operational unit of the Italian Army, part of the 132nd "Ariete" armored brigade which for the next six months will lead the Forward Land Force battle group Italian-led NATO multinational unit deployed in Bulgaria.

The NATO mission conducted by the national contingent is a measure of a defensive nature, proportionate and fully in line with the international commitment of the Atlantic Alliance.
