Lebanon: the Italian armed forces conduct advanced training for the Lebanese rangers

The course was concluded yesterday, with the final ceremony of delivery of the certificates of participation Winter Special Mountain Warfare organized by the Italian Bilateral Military Mission in Lebanon in favor of personnel belonging to the Ranger Regiment of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF).

In addition to the Lebanese military authorities, the commander of the mission, Colonel Stefano Giribono, attended the event.

The activities carried out during the course

The course Winter Special Mountain Warfare, lasting for 4 weeks, was conducted by the Mobile Training Team coming from the 4th alpine parachute ranger regiment of Montorio Veronese (VR).

Il Mobile Training Team 24 was made up of pupils among officers, non-commissioned officers and troopers already operating as rangers in the control of the Lebanese borders.

The course provided the students with the necessary bases to develop and apply advanced combat techniques in a snowy mountain environment, while giving indications regarding the organization of tactical command and control activities and the organization, planning and conduct of operational activities.

The Italian mission in Lebanon (MIBIL)

The Italian Bilateral Military Mission in Lebanon (MIBIL), operating in Lebanon since 2015, organizes, conducts and coordinates training and training activities in favor of the Lebanese Armed Forces, framing itself in the broader international context that aims to support the institutions of the Middle Eastern nation in order to increase its overall capabilities.
