Lebanon: "Sharp Shooter" and "Detainees Escort" courses concluded

The "Sharp Shooter" course and the "Detainees Escort" course organized by the Italian Bilateral Military Mission in Lebanon (MIBIL) and conducted by Italian military instructors for the benefit of the formal ceremony of greeting and delivery of participation certificates ended today. of selected personnel of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF). 
The event at the end of the course was attended, in addition to the Lebanese Military Authorities, by Lt. Col. Simone Bellitti as Tutor and representing the Commander of MIBIL, Col. Stefano Giribono.

4 weeks to shoot 400 meters without optics

Both Courses took place at the As-Samayah Training Center. In particular, the “Sharp Shooter” course was also held at the Kleile shooting range and lasted a total of 4 weeks involving a rate of 14 military personnel (1 Officer and 13 NCOs). The training was conducted by a MTT (Mobile Training Team) from the Infantry School - Sharpshooters Department. Specifically, during the course, subjects such as:

- shooting training;
- ballistics;
- topography;
- land use;
- estimate of distances (without the use of electronic materials);
- occult movement on the ground (Stalking);
- masking.

Furthermore, in practice, all the visitors received the training necessary to hit a target up to a distance of 400 meters without the aid of optics.

3 weeks of training for prisoners' escort

The "Detainees Escort" course instead lasted 3 weeks, including lectures and practical exercises and was conducted by a Team from the 2nd Mobile Carabinieri Brigade allowing the training of a total of 25 students (2 Officers, 6 SU and 17 Graduati) operating within the Military Police. 
The training course to escort the inmates made it possible to learn the basic knowledge about: 
- the approach to the prisoner;
- his surveillance;
- the management of his movements;
- search, handcuffing and disarming techniques.

To the knowledge learned during the previous training activities provided by the MIBIL Mission in Lebanon, there were also those on the general planning of translation services, with particular regard to high-risk prisoners, the rights of prisoners and management of health emergencies arising during the translations.
