The Italian military donated a neonatal island to the Gjakova hospital, an electrocardiograph and a multi-parametric monitor together with other medical materials and to the Klina hospital. All this will allow the development of a neonatal support capacity and monitoring of vital parameters for more than 6.000 subjects affected by various diseases.

A concrete help that will reduce the risk complications for 50 newborns a year
The neonatal island increases the life-saving capacity of the Giakova healthcare unit, potentially reducing the risk of complications for 50 infants a year.
A cycle of donations of medical material in favor of hospitals located in the western part of Kosovo was thus concluded. This activity is part of the plan to enhance health capabilities in Kosovo conducted by the Italian military of the Civil and Military Cooperation (CI.MI.C.) of the Multinational Battle Group West (MNBG-W), based on the 185th "Folgore" parachute artillery regiment .

Medical equipment purchased with funds from the Italian Defense
Colonel Ettore Gagliardi delivered the medical equipment, purchased entirely with the funds of the Italian Defense, to the respective directors of the hospitals, Dr. Drita Gjergji and Dr. Ahmet Asslani, who thanked Italy for the support provided to the population during these years.

The Multinational Battle Group West
The Italian-led MNBG-W currently consists of men and women belonging to the four contingents of Italy, Slovenia, Austria and Moldova and promotes the development of Civil and Military Cooperation projects in full compliance with the 1244 resolution of the Security Council of the United Nations.
