The platoon of the Italian Engineers, included in regional command west (RC-W) of KFOR based on the 11th Bersaglieri Regiment, completed the works of Force Protection at the bases of Camp Villaggio Italia (CVI) and Camp Sparta, near the Decan/Decani Monastery.

Specifically, at the Camp Villaggio Italia base, home of RC-W, a fire barrier approximately 15 meters wide was created along the entire external perimeter of the base, for a total length of approximately 3 kilometres, aimed at delaying the progress of any fires. Also at the Camp Sparta base, a accordion was positioned along the external perimeter, for a total length of approximately 100 metres, in order to increase the safety and protection standards for the military.

The Italian Engineers units, part of the multinational RC-W contingent, conduct frequent activities aimed at protecting the forces and at the same time implementing the security of the contingents residing within the military infrastructures and preserving their operational capabilities.

Il regional command west of the Kosovo Force (KFOR), in line with United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999, contributes to maintaining a safe and secure environment, as well as freedom of movement for all communities living in Kosovo.
