Erbil, courses for public order operators concluded

In recent days they concluded, at the Special Training School of Bagdad, the 26th course for "Public order operator" and the 10th course of "Operational Intervention Techniques", both carried out by the Carabinieri soldiers employed in the operation First Parthica and in support of the multinational coalition “Inherent Resolve” (OIR).

The training activities, which lasted two weeks and were aimed at 115 students from the local Police forces, are specific for Federal Police personnel.

The lessons were held at the Iraqi training institute, based in Baghdad, by Italian soldiers from the mobile organization of the Carabinieri and in particular from the 7th "Trentino Alto Adige" regiment, from the 13th "Friuli" regiment Venezia Giulia", from the 1st Carabinieri Parachute Regiment "Tuscania" and from the training center and support department of the 2nd Carabinieri Mobile Brigade.

The objective of the Italian instructors was to provide attendees with the ability to plan a public order service in an operational context, such as large events, protests and sporting events, resorting to the use of force in a progressive way, resorting techniques, specific movements and the use of the weapons supplied.

At the end of the two weeks, a final exercise took place, during which the attending staff simulated the management and control of public order in a street demonstration carried out by a tumultuous crowd, implementing the techniques and procedures acquired also by using the riot control kits supplied.

Satisfaction with the results achieved was expressed by the commander of the Federal Police school, Major General Hassan Redha Hasan and by the commander of the Carabinieri mobile training team, Lieutenant Colonel Luca Simonetti, who operates in Iraq directly reporting to the commander of theItalian National Contingent Command Land, Colonel Francesco Antonio Serafini.

The activities carried out in the Operational Theater are conducted under the coordination and according to the directives given by the joint top operational command (COVI).
