The Euro ship commitment continues in the Horn of Africa

After six months of activity in anti-piracy, ship Euro has recently been involved in the Focused Operation Aether 11, monitoring activities of suspicious activities off the Somali coast. The ship recently completed the World Food Program (WFP) freighter escort Apollonas, from the Somali port of Berbera to the Yemeni port of Aden, sailing for about 150 nautical miles across the Gulf of Aden.

The escort to the merchant ships of the WFP - ship Euro he has already completed three since his arrival in the theater - continues to be one of the main tasks of the Atalanta operation.

The operation recently offered the ship the opportunity to increase cooperation with another country of the EUNAVFOR SOMALIA device. In fact, in September theEuro has provided its support and numerous supplies to theAutonomous Vessel Protection Detachment (AVPD) Serbian embarked on the WFP freighter Douro, short of food and water due to a delayed entry into the port of Bosasso (Somalia).
