A week of training concluded in the Novo Selo training area which saw the deployment of various components of the battle group of NATO: a heavy mortar platoon, a sharpshooter team, two nuclei Surveillance Acquisition of Visual Objectives and the nuclei Tactical Air Control party (TACP) of the units belonging to the Italian and Croatian Army.
The aim of the activity was to allow firing with heavy 120 mm mortars with a change of objective and deployment position, and then launch illuminating ammunition in night mode.
At the same time, the sniper team hit distant targets with the SAKO TRG-42 and ARX 200 armament, also through the use of night vision systems.
Italy is leading the battle group in Bulgaria, included in the operation of enhanced Vigilance Activity of NATO, from October 2022.
