In recent days, the Military Advisor Team (MAT) Italian, unit inserted in the Train Advise and Assist Command West (TAAC-W), has concluded a training cycle in favor of around 50 among officers, non-commissioned officers and military personnel of the Afghan Army (Afghan National Army - ANA).
The activities, dedicated to the training of instructors of the Afghan security forces, were carried out in the Camp Arena training area.
In particular, the techniques of Counter Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED), mobile check points and fighting techniques in population centers.
The course was therefore not focused on basic training, but on the advanced level dedicated to those who, within the 207th Afghan Army Corps, are already in charge of staff training: this type of courses are in fact called train the trainers.
On the final days it was finally conducted by the team advisor Italians, a symposium on the program for the management of digital mapping "GEO-PDF Afghanistan" in favor of the staff of the first brigade of the 207 ° corps, aimed at increasing and refining the ability to use this system.
