On December 17, 2023, the Navy Music Band saluted the Peruvian Navy ship B.A.P. "UNIÓN" moored in Civitavecchia.
The sailing training ship, intended for the training of cadets of the Naval School of Peru, is engaged in a training campaign around the world and has stopped for several days in the port of the Lazio city.
During the stop, the Unit received on board many visitors who took advantage of the opportunity to visit a historic sailing ship that rarely crosses our seas.
On the day of departure, the Navy Music Band, directed for the occasion by the deputy master, Lieutenant Commander Gianluca Cantarini, performed We are free, let us always be, national anthem of Peru, the Song of the Italians Italian national anthem and the song El Condor Pasha, folk song from the Peruvian Andes. The exciting moment of unmooring was instead accompanied by the notes of The Ritirata.
